About ASAHRS
The American Society of Aesthetic and Hair Restoration Surgeons is a professional medical society dedicated to advancing clinical standards, education, and ethical practice in aesthetic and hair restoration medicine.
Advancing the Standard of Aesthetic Medicine Education
ASAHRS exists to ensure that physicians and eligible healthcare professionals have access to rigorous, evidence-based education in the most important areas of contemporary aesthetic practice.
Our mission is to provide structured educational pathways that integrate scientific principles with direct clinical application — equipping providers with the knowledge, technique, and judgment required to deliver safe, effective, and ethical aesthetic care. We believe that well-educated providers produce better patient outcomes, and that the profession as a whole is elevated when education is held to the highest standards.
Educational Excellence
Curricula developed by practicing specialists, grounded in current evidence, and continuously updated to reflect advances in technology and technique.
Patient Safety First
Every program integrates safety principles, complication recognition, emergency preparedness, and ethical patient selection as core curriculum components.
Independence & Objectivity
ASAHRS maintains independence from device manufacturers and product brands, ensuring education is guided by clinical evidence rather than commercial interest.
Professional Community
Building a network of well-trained, ethically grounded aesthetic medicine practitioners committed to ongoing professional development and peer collaboration.
We believe that the quality of aesthetic medicine education directly determines the quality of patient care. Our responsibility is to set and uphold the standard.
ASAHRS Educational CommitteeA Legacy of Clinical Leadership
Founded by a group of board-certified physicians committed to elevating the standard of aesthetic and hair restoration practice, ASAHRS has grown into a nationally recognized professional society with an expanding educational platform.
From its origins as a surgical hair restoration society, ASAHRS has expanded its scope to encompass the full breadth of modern aesthetic medicine — reflecting the evolution of the specialty itself and the growing demand among physicians for comprehensive, clinically rigorous education across all aesthetic modalities.
Society Established
ASAHRS was founded by board-certified surgeons and physicians dedicated to advancing clinical standards in aesthetic and hair restoration medicine through education, research, and professional development.
Educational Programs Launched
The Society launched its first structured educational programs, introducing hands-on clinical training in hair restoration and early non-surgical aesthetic techniques to physician members.
Aesthetic Medicine Curriculum Broadened
Recognizing the rapid expansion of non-surgical aesthetic medicine, ASAHRS extended its educational offerings to include injectables, energy-based technologies, skin, fat and body, and regenerative aesthetics.
ASAHRS Aesthetic Medicine Education
ASAHRS now operates a dedicated professional education platform serving physicians and healthcare professionals across the United States with hands-on programs in six core aesthetic disciplines at multiple training locations.
Leadership & Board of Directors
ASAHRS is governed by a board of practicing physicians and specialists who bring deep clinical expertise, academic credentials, and a shared commitment to the advancement of aesthetic medicine education.
Dr. Reeves is a board-certified surgeon with over 20 years of experience in surgical and non-surgical hair restoration and facial aesthetic medicine. He has trained hundreds of physicians and is a recognized authority in trichoscopy and combination hair restoration protocols.

The Standards That Define Our Education
Every ASAHRS program is developed and delivered according to a defined set of educational and clinical standards that ensure quality, safety, and professional integrity.
Evidence-Based Curriculum
All ASAHRS curricula are developed from current peer-reviewed literature, clinical guidelines, and the direct clinical experience of our faculty. Programs are reviewed and updated regularly to reflect advances in evidence and technology. We do not include techniques or protocols that lack adequate clinical support.
Qualified Faculty Requirements
All ASAHRS faculty must be board-certified or board-eligible physicians or specialists with active clinical practice in their teaching area. Faculty undergo a formal review process and are evaluated by participants following each program. Teaching performance is monitored and addressed through our faculty development process.
Participant Eligibility Standards
ASAHRS programs are restricted to licensed physicians and eligible healthcare professionals. All participants must submit professional credentials and licensure documentation prior to enrollment. Eligibility requirements vary by program level and are strictly enforced to maintain the clinical integrity of hands-on instruction.
Small-Group Instruction Standards
ASAHRS enforces enrollment limits for all hands-on programs to ensure that each participant receives adequate faculty attention and procedural practice time. Maximum group sizes are determined by program type and are not exceeded regardless of demand. Programs that reach capacity are closed to further enrollment.
Safety & Complication Integration
Patient safety is not a standalone module — it is integrated throughout every ASAHRS curriculum. Programs cover contraindications, risk stratification, complication recognition, emergency preparedness, and evidence-based risk-reduction strategies as core components of every educational pathway.
Commercial Independence
ASAHRS maintains strict independence from device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and product distributors. Educational content is not influenced by commercial sponsorship. Technology and product discussions are conducted on a comparative, evidence-based basis without preference for any particular brand or platform.
Building a Better-Educated Profession
The impact of ASAHRS education extends beyond individual practitioners. When physicians are better trained, patients receive safer, more effective care — and the entire profession benefits from elevated standards.
ASAHRS works with academic medical centers, hospital systems, physician groups, and professional societies to expand access to high-quality aesthetic medicine education. Our private education programs bring ASAHRS faculty directly to clinical teams, enabling group training in a familiar environment with customized curricula tailored to specific practice needs.
Academic Medical Centers
Collaborative programs with academic institutions integrating aesthetic medicine education into residency and fellowship curricula.
Physician Group Training
Private on-site programs for multi-physician practices and clinic groups seeking coordinated team education in aesthetic medicine.
Professional Society Collaboration
Partnerships with specialty societies to develop shared educational standards and expand access to aesthetic medicine training across disciplines.
A Commitment to Ethical Practice
Patient-Centered Care
ASAHRS education emphasizes that patient welfare must always be the primary consideration in aesthetic practice — above commercial pressure, technology adoption, or revenue generation.
Informed Consent Standards
All programs include comprehensive instruction in informed consent processes, realistic outcome communication, and the ethical obligations of the treating physician in aesthetic medicine.
Responsible Marketing Practices
ASAHRS educates participants on the ethical standards governing the marketing of aesthetic services, including restrictions on before-and-after imagery, outcome guarantees, and professional claims.
Scope of Practice Guidance
Programs address the legal and ethical dimensions of scope of practice in aesthetic medicine, including supervision requirements, delegation standards, and the physician's responsibility for all patient outcomes.
Complication Disclosure
ASAHRS teaches that transparent complication disclosure, appropriate documentation, and timely patient support are non-negotiable professional obligations — not optional risk-management strategies.
Aesthetic medicine carries the same ethical obligations as any other area of medical practice. The privilege of performing these procedures comes with the responsibility to be properly trained, to obtain genuine informed consent, to recognize and manage complications, and to always prioritize the patient's wellbeing over commercial considerations.
